Yoga fam, this is our second to last prenatal yoga class!
Time weirdly flies, but also doesn’t when you’re growing a baby…
Personally, time evaporated during my first two trimesters, but lord almighty did it begin to crawl as I entered week 30.
My belly felt enormous, my back ached like hell, breathing wasn’t easy, and let’s not even talk about the sheer amount of daily underwear changes…
And on top of all of this, we’re preparing for a baby to arrive!
So, today’s class is here to offer you some much needed assistance ❤️
When we step on the mat together, regardless of your trimester, let us remember that our yoga practice is a beautiful resource that supports us through life’s many seasons.
And right now, it’s helping us care for our changing bodies, reckon with new experiences we’re feeling, honor the sacred relationship we’re building, and support the baby we’re growing.
This practice is here to cultivate & strengthen the connection we have with ourselves and baby as we prepare for the passage (labor) and the ultimate threshold of initiation – becoming a mother, forever!
On a less mushier note, yoga asana can also be greatly helpful in preparing the body for birth and positioning baby head down as labor nears.
For these reasons, don’t hesitate to get on the mat with me today!
Today’s sequence, designed by Sarah Ezrin from Yoga International, is a complete, full-body yin yang practice. There are strong elements that’ll provide stability and soft elements to relax, restore and receive.
I personally loved filming this class for you and my body (and my baby) thanked me too!
Now you will need/want some props, so let’s cover that.
A ledge of some sort is required, like the edge of a chair, coffee table or couch, and I also recommend a bolster, two blocks, and a blanket to elevate your experience today.
Once you’ve got those yoga tools gathered, come join me to begin this full-body prenatal class together.
I’ll meet ya on the mat,
PS – As always, please listen to your body and your provider’s recommendations! If anything suggested doesn’t feel good based on your specific needs, either adjust the posture or stop entirely.
