Nadi Shodhana | Breathe to Support Yourself & Baby!

Truthfully, this class is for all the mommas who need a timeout to reset their nervous system,

… but because I’m pregnant…

Regardless of which season of pregnancy you’re currently in, the demands on our bodies are enormously taxing. 

I mean geesh, bending over is becoming a real struggle at the moment, and I’m beginning to wonder how in the world I’ll shave down there in a few weeks. 

And no, I don’t trust my sweet husband with my vagina and a razor. 

Let’s get back to the prenatal pranayama practice, which is why we’re here. 

Nadi shodhana, also known as alternate nostril breathing, is a GREAT technique to have in your yoga toolkit, here’s why ➡️

  • Reduces stress and anxiety
  • Rebalances your hormones, which are on a rollercoaster
  • Calms and resets the nervous system
  • Infuses the body with fresh oxygen 
  • Combats fatigue
  • Fosters focus and mental clarity

On the mat, we’ll begin with the trimurti mudra (the gesture for life’s transitions) to get grounded, connect with baby, and honor the sacred journey we’re traveling.

We’ll then practice nadi shodhana for 3 minutes or so, and end with stillness using the same mudra again. 

This is a short, yet powerful practice that I suggest you don’t miss.
