Yoga for Strength: Arm Balances & Inversions Flow

Hello my badass, fearless, incredible yogi community & welcome to number four in the 30 Pose Flow Series!

We’ve covered a lot of postures, digested a lot of information, taken a lot of chances, and made a lot of shapes. Basically, we’ve done a lot of a lot, meaning – we’re ready to get upside down and balance on our arms today!

If you’re new to the whole 30 Pose Flow thangggg, don’t worry babe, below is everything you need to know.

For the inversion postures in today’s sequence, I recommend either using a wall or having a partner nearby to spot, especially for the first few attempts.The wall provides a sense of safety/comfort, but I will warn you, it can become too safe. Use it while you’re learning the body mechanics of the posture, but then get on with it.

And before we dive into today’s ridiculously exhilarating and ball busting practice, I’d like to dive a bit deeper into what’s going to come up for you.

Fear will make a mega appearance, it’s expected and welcomed here, don’t shy away from it!

But please note, the type of fear that’s not welcome is ego induced fear. Ego being the small voice that tells us – I’m not good enough, I’ll never be strong enough, I couldn’t possibly do that with my body. 

You know that voice…..it’s quite the loud, pesky, won’t ever shut the fuck up type voice.

Well friends, today we’re going to shut that voice the fuck up. We’re going to show it who’s boss (which is you). We’re going to believe in ourselves. We’re going to give it all we got. And the best part, we’re going to enjoy every moment of it.

Can I get an amen?

This whole process of the unknown, kicking up, balancing on ourselves, and not knowing how it will unfold, is crucial to your advanced yoga journey (and your real journey).

Yes, it’s scary and uncomfortable, I get it. I’ve been there….

But guess what’s even scarier?

Living in your shadow, never taking the risk, and wondering how it could’ve, would’ve, or should’ve turned out.

I won’t let this happen, to either of us, as life’s just too damn precious.
