30 Min Morning Yoga | Solar Plexus Core Activation for Confidence

The solar plexus is located at your navel center, the element is fire, the activity is doing, and it’s your ego identity. 

When working with this chakra, I always love to imagine it as an internal 🔥 flame; a flame helping us take imperfect action, channel our will, challenge ourselves, and feel purposeful and powerful. 

A flame that helps us “do all the things”, digest life’s happenings, take risks, and lean into our potentiality.

But when we struggle to manage this flame (aka our energy), we either become underpowered or burst into flames, so developing mastery over our energy is a way to build and maintain strength & ease. 

For example… 

If you’re struggling with your inner critic (the small self that’s filled with doubt and insecurity), you can do a strong asana practice to get out of your head and into your physical body. Or, you can repeat the affirmation “I can, I will, I am!” over and over to bathe your psyche in a positive, empowering story.

Or, if you’re feeling fatigued from an illness (hello COVID!), or zapped from a demanding workload, you can choose a restorative practice to recharge your battery.

In a world where many of us are feeling very disempowered as of late, I firmly believe that it’s a heroic act to declare sovereignty over your energy, and maintain both strength & ease.

If you have asthma, chronic bronchitis or are experiencing sinus pressure, please honor your body’s cues. 

If bhastrika is not aligned with your body, mind & soul at this moment, you are welcome to continue with a dirgha pranayama practice!
