Alarm clock sounds (or the baby monitor sounds), and it’s a brand new opportunity to begin again.
But before you roll outta bed and rush to your to-do list, how about a mindful pause…let your eyes focus inward, take a few deep breaths, and give yourself a moment to mindfully check in.
Great, you have arrived! It’s a great day to be an earth plane human!
(Every morning I say to Scarlett, “It’s a great day to be a baby!”)
Now I’ve shared many, many, many times here why I love morning yoga, and over the years my reasons have changed, but right now it feels more important than ever before.
Because right now, I’m in a rebuilding phase.
Rebuilding trust in my body after a difficult belly birth, rebuilding connection in my marriage after a massive reorientation (whoa, we’re parents!), rebuilding concentration after monthssss of sleep deprivation, rebuilding self-belief as a teacher, leader and entrepreneur, and rebuilding my ability to take imperfect action (and not succumb to perfectionism).
And nothing supports me more, I mean nothing, then getting on my mat in the morning!
Well actually, not gonna lie to ya, my morning cup of ☕ coffee equally supports me.
These two support systems – my yoga practice & a cup of coffee – are how today’s new morning yoga flow came to be.
