Yoga for Grounding & Centering to Feel Supported

Welcome to your 20 minute Yoga for Grounding and Centering. 

This short yoga sequence is a mix of gentle movements and restorative postures to help you feel grounded, supported and centered before stepping off the yoga mat. Your yoga class includes a restorative child pose, gentle yoga postures such as cat and cow, and we’ll seal the practice with a seated meditation to put you back in touch with your roots, to remind yourself of your resilience and to embody the strength of the earth’s qualities. 

As I write this blog post, we’ve got a powerful energetic event coming…. that event being the Fall Equinox

The Fall Equinox marks the beginning of a new season, a new quarter, and a new story. 

It’s a moment in time where you can lean into Mother Nature and learn from her processes. During Autumn, the lightness and brightness of summertime fades to cooler and cozier temperatures which signal nature (and us) to prepare for winter and turn inward.

A time to turn in, tune in and reconnect to the qualities of earth reflected within us.

Qualities such as her strength and resilience.

Now imagine, If you could embody those qualities in body, mind and soul…. what would it feel like? 

Throughout your gentle yoga practice today I’ll be cuing you to go inward, to let the gentle movements soothe your body and to reconnect to your center so you can ground down into those energetic earth qualities.

My favorite part of this practice is the Bhu mudra meditation. 

Seated down, crown reaching up towards the sky, we’ll create an inverted V and form an equilateral triangle that symbolizes strength, structure & stability – qualities of earth – so we can begin to embody this trinity. 

This is your yoga and meditation class to find peace in uncertainty. 

Together we’ll remind ourselves that…

  • I can face adversity with grace and ease 
  • I am strong and resilient 
  • I am rooted, secure, and safe here 
  • I embody the earth’s qualities 
  • I am strong, stable and secure
