Wake Up Yoga to Feel Joyful | 25 Min Morning Yoga Stretch

I just wrapped filming today’s class while the baby napped, and as I was practicing, this intention came to me…

I awaken joy on my mat, so I can sustain joy off my mat.

What would happen if we really committed to this? What if we really took joy off the mat and into life’s cracks and crevices? What would be different?

Personally, my marriage, motherhood, career, conversations and perspectives brighten when “I choose to” live like this.

But that’s just it.

I’ve gotta make the choice to think, feel and be like this, or my mind resorts to a disastrous default mode where my inner Judge Judy & Regina George run the show.

(btw, do you have names for your inner critic archetypes like I do?)

And, let’s not forget this is the aim of yoga!

To unearth our joyful nature (i.e. the bliss body or anandamayakosha), while we detach from limiting beliefs, thoughts, emotions and experiences that keep us from identifying with our true nature.
