The sacral chakra is your right to feel, to believe in your needs, to choose to change based on what you need, and to call forth your powerful feminine nature that’s flexible like water, nurturing like a mother, playful like a child, and sensual like a lover.
Whenever we start to ignore these needs or take things too seriously, we can turn to these 👇🏽 practical off-the-mat sacral chakra teachings to regain our spiritual wellbeing.
#1 – Reclaim Pleasure through Play
Playfulness is an act of pure rebellion in today’s productive society, and it’s the grease that keeps our body-mind system running efficiently. Having fun isn’t silly, it’s actually a necessity if we want to live sustainably.
#2 – Embody Water
Drink it, swim in it, bathe in it. Water is the sacral chakra element and it provides a cleansing experience for your emotions and psyche. Seeing my daughter’s energy change the moment she’s submerged in her evening bath proves this to me.

#3 – Care for your Emotions
Start to develop emotional intelligence either through self-study, observation or by working with a therapist. The more we can name how we feel & why, the less control our outdated stories have.
#4 – Get Sexual
Whether it’s with yourself or another, intimacy is a powerful energy! Also important to name here is healing from sexual abuse, birth trauma (including miscarriages & abortions), and religious anti-pleasure rules.

#5 Tap into Femininity
Mother yourself, soften into whatever support’s available, and allow life to feel beautiful. Play soulful music, light a candle, put dangly earrings on, or wear a long, flowy dress because it feels good to you!
These off-the-mat teachings can help cleanse, repair and optimize your sacral chakra.
