Yoga fam…
Today’s yoga class and blog post are both short, sweet and POWERFUL!
In just 15 minutes, we’ll twist, tone and tap into your power center while embracing opposite energies in a yin yang yoga flow.
What opposite energies are we talking about here?
Today’s practice takes you through postures to build strength, heat and bring in the masculine, yang nature and restorative postures that cool, soothe and bring in the feminine, yin nature. Put them together and there’s a beautiful balance between softness and strength!
To find this balance and tone the tummy, we’ll be exploring balancing postures like tricky cat, core work with bicycles and some yummy releases – like bananasana and supine twists. You’ll find time to integrate between your strong twisting postures with poses that nourish and restore.
And fam, let’s be real, you need both in life…
In yogic terms, we’re talking about sthira and sukha, or steadiness and ease. On the mat, sthira brings strength and stability into our poses, the ability to be strong and steady for extended holds, balanced with sukha, the ability to soften and find the good place as Pantanjali describes it where body, mind and soul are aligned.
While you don’t need any props today, we will be on our knees quite a bit, so you may want to add a blanket or extra cushion for the floor.
Unroll your mat and meet me there – to twist into your core strength, find your inner power and softness!
