Welcome to Day 3 of the Chakra Challenge.
And welcome to my favorite energetic center, the manipura chakra, the third wheel of energy that lies within.
This chakra, also referred to as the solar plexus, is our space for transformation, willpower, purpose, digestion, and energy. It’s where we make shit happen.
…. magical shit that is.
It’s the space that keeps you coming back to your mat, pursuing your purpose, challenging your movements, and transforming your experience here, within your journey. It’s powerful, period.
Let’s dive into this power center and learn more.
Solar Plexus Must-Knows:
- Located in the upper abdomen, specifically from the sternum to the navel.
- The element is fire 🔥
- It centers on our ability to overcome inertia, to take the next best step, and to direct our will onto what matters.
- The related color is yellow, picture a glowing ball of yellow energy at your navel center.
- The bija mantra is RAM.
Today’s yoga class will focus on igniting your personal power through challenging movements and strong standing postures.

We will bring our attention to the navel center, our manipura chakra, and tap into creating and sustaining transformation on the mat, so that we can take it off the mat. After we create this internal heat, we’ll seal our practice with a moment of folding forward into our purpose and chanting the bija mantra – RAM – in a seated meditation.
