Earth Element Yoga 🌱 Stability is Your Priority

If you struggle with stability, consistency or completing things, this is the blog you need to read.

I’d like to start off with a personal share, and then we’ll get to your on-the-mat class and it’s holistic teachings.

For as long I can remember, I’ve struggled with stability.

Yes, I’ve achieved great things (I’m not contesting this), but it’s often been a battle for me. Procrastination and perfectionism have willingly guided my path, while repetition and dedication have not been so eager to lead.

And let me tell ya, I am desperate for these not so eager to lead qualities to take center stage

I’m frustrated with the starting, stopping, avoiding games that my mind 🧠 likes to play, and so…

I committed to a 40 day meditation to challenge my self-sabotaging behavior.

86 days later, I’m ELATED to share that I’ve completed all 40 damn days!

The journey was challenging, nourishing and revealing. Sitting for 30 minutes is a difficult feat, to the point where I was often aching for it to just be over already.

But there were ALSO moments of bliss, absolute connection, and extreme stillness that acted as a doorway to wisdom body connection.

I could’ve quit so many times, but rewiring my struggles with stability & consistency is something I’m committed to changing!

Which leads to me to our earth element yoga asana class that’s dedicated to ➡️ stability being the priority.

When you move through this muladhara chakra inspired sequence, I invite you to embody these earth-like characteristics…

trustworthiness, reliability, strength, rooted, grounded, prosperous and life-giving

Then realize that these same qualities can be sourced & strengthened through a dedicated yoga practice, only to be repurposed and applied to your life off the mat!

I recently read this from Brianna Wiest that confirmed my belief in stability, and how vital it is our to growth 🌱 both on & off the mat…

“Little by little, you begin to see that life can only grow outward in proportion to how stable it is inward – that if the joy is not in the little things first, the big things won’t fully find us.”

(how 👏🏽 good is that)

Finally, all of the above brings me ⬇️ here.

Your yoga practice is intended to be more than a surface level experience, and the sooner you SAY YES to holistic studentship that goes beyond surface level promises, the faster yoga will foster metamorphoses.

I had forgotten this these past few years…

But my imperfect 40 day meditation practice was the wake up call I needed.

So, please make stability your priority today with your yoga practice, then repeat this intention day after day to the best of your ability.​
